Anne Lamott said about writing:
“You are lucky to be one of those people who wishes to build sand castles with words, who is willing to create a place where your imagination can wander.”
This is equally true for photographers living in this delightful digital age.
I live in a valley surrounded by mountains, but the mountains are gently rounded, not like these sharply peaked triangular shapes. I live where weeds and reeds grow along unspoiled lakes and rivers, swaying in the breeze. I live where a single sun shines many days of the year, unlike the series of circular orbs, some partly hidden, casting their luminance here.
But I made images from the reality that surrounds me and combined them to create this fantasy vista that feels magical and otherworldly. In so doing, I’ve painted with a palette that I find soothing – golden yellows and greens and browns. And it is a place I can let my imagination wander through shapes and textures and illusory beauty. Please join me here.
