In a constellation of wind-blown bits

pine straw dancers grace the pond’s shivering surface.

Below, weeds wave,

welcoming Autumn.

-- Kathleen Herndon

With gratitude to dear friend/poet/writer/painter Kathleen Herndon for bringing this simple image to life with her beautiful words.

From Phil Douglis, my teacher and workshop instructor: "Waving weeds, indeed! I love the shot. It is whimsical and carries considerable depth along with it. The departing figure waves with both arms, the object of its affection uses one arm, and the distant bystander does not wave with any of its arms." And: "The purpose behind abstraction is to stimulate the imagination of the viewer by implying, rather that describing, content. Your image did just that for me."
