As I enter a new phase of life, I realize that I am increasingly drawn to making photographs that are wrapped in themes of wonder, mystery and the sacred within the natural world. So it is no surprise that I love to feature moons in various styles and phases.
Here, a luminous crescent moon hangs within a dreamlike whirl of deep blues, silvers and shadowy blacks, anchoring the celestial vortex spinning around it. The vertical blurred lines descend through the image like sheets of rain.
We feel the motion and power of this mystical and otherworldly boundary between sky, water and forest. And, in that way, we feel the pull of unseen forces, perhaps standing at the threshold of a vast and unknowable universe.
