There are moments when we are overwhelmed by the beauty around us. Color and shape and form bring us joy, as in this image of what I think is an angel’s trumpet.
While you might think of this as a spring bloom, I made the image in October at a time when the blossom was past peak, giving us those perfectly imperfect bits and shadings.
Still, even at the time of capture, the curves and lilts of the tendrils were still dancing. The subtle shades of blues and greens and peaches in the background feel to me like a watercolor painting that is shouting SPRING and NATURE’S GLORY and DON’T OVERLOOK ME!
As poet Reginald Holmes said: [note: this quote has also been attributed to Shakespeare and George Santayana]
The earth has music for those who listen.
