This lone tree stands tall, leafless in the late afternoon. Through the alchemy of multiple exposure and intentional camera movement, the golds, pinks, and oranges of the setting sun burst forth, ballooning at the bottom and creating feathery purples that paint the sky, all the way up to heaven.
I was honored to have this image chosen by the Shenandoah Arts Council to be displayed both in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and as a banner on our Old Town Mall. It will hang there for a year, reminding all of us how important art is in our lives. Thank you, Shenandoah Arts Council!
