I have a new fascination with compositions that feature orbs. Lots of kinds of orbs. Blue orbs. Orange orbs. Single orbs. Multiple orbs. To see more of these creations, visit my Abstract Play gallery. and my Circles of Life gallery.
But this orb – this moon? this planet? - has a different feeling. While it is an abstract, dreamlike interpretation of outer space, it also feels very organic, almost as though you could touch it and it would be rough. Perhaps extremely rough. Or burning hot.
And the colors! The textured surface is marked by rusty reds, deep oranges, and golds. The background looks weathered and mineral-like. The splashes of glowing yellows and fiery reds explode into the scene, like cosmic clouds drifting in the void.
Unlike some of the peaceful, gently floating orb images I've made, this one is bursting with energy and passion and untethered power.
